polygamy, yes or no?

22 03 2007

some how i was involved in a dicussion on plygamy with a friend, today. Well… i know most women are against it. Men believe that it’s their right while the women believe that polygamy is unfair to them.  Most women are loyal towards their spouse and expect the same loyalty in return. Why can’t a man stay loyal to his wife? It is clear that women can’t bear to share their husband with another woman. Can’t men understand this feeling? What if the situationis reversed? Can a man share his wife with another men? Muslim men are allowed by the religion to have more than 1 wife. However, there are a few conditions need to be fulfilled by them before they can take another wife. Unfortunately some men seem to take advantage of this situation. They take a new wife though they’re unable to fulfill the conditions stated. Their reason is; IT’S PERMITTED BY GOD!

Well… I’m not blaming the men totally. They should be blame but women have to take their share of the blame too. Most of the time it’s the men fault but, at times it’s the women’s fault too… (please don’t be angry) If the women refuse to marry another woman’s husband, then we would not have this problem. Men can’t marry another woman if she chooses not to marry him.

However, it’s all up to the individual. There are women who can accept polygamy and those who can’t. Only those who went through it know what it really feels. We just can’t judge others as we are not in their shoes. The same goes to me. I can’t tell what they feel.

Oh wait. Yes, I have. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have it in me right now to type it all out again. Besides, it was just ramblings anyway. You didn’t want to hear me go on and on about this, right?
